Brant Shrimplin

Brant Shrimplin is a founding member and Managing Director of 626 Financial, a Registered Investment Advisor based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He leads a boutique advisory practice serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families across the United States — many of whom come from entrepreneurial backgrounds with deep interests in real estate and private markets.

Brant’s career in wealth management began in 1999 on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, an early vantage point that shaped how he reads markets. He returned home to Kalamazoo in 2002 and, in 2009, co-founded 626 Financial — opening its doors on June 26, the date that gives the firm its name.

As a fiduciary, Brant puts each family’s interests first, pairing sophisticated, multi-generational planning — including complex trust structures — with a disciplined, cost-conscious approach to managing wealth. Over the past decade he has built deep experience across private markets, real estate, and venture investing, extending — where it fits a family’s goals — into the harder-to-access corners of the market that conventional portfolios rarely reach. As a commercial real estate owner himself, he brings firsthand, owner-operator perspective to the real estate side of his clients’ portfolios. 

Brant graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and holds the Series 65 Investment Adviser Representative registration along with life and health insurance licenses. He is the author of Stop Hitting Snooze, a book on success in business and life. He lives in Southwest Michigan with his family.
